PREPARING FOR YOUR ENGAGEMENT SHOOT
Engagement photos are some of the most important photos you will take in your life! They are the photos that great, great grandchildren will look at one day as their parents tell stories about you. They are also the photos that you will share on social media and your friends will "Ooooh!" and "Aahhh!" over as your love is reflected through them - so, looking your best is highly important!
The most important thing I tell my clients is to be yourself and be comfortable! While it may be fun and a good excuse to run out and buy something new for the shoot, be sure that you wear it at least once before the shoot to make sure you feel good in it! Feeling good or not feeling good comes through in facial expressions making this very important!
Ladies, treat yourself! Hire a hair and makeup artist for your shoot! If you hired one for your wedding, most likely they will want to do a test style first. This would be a great time for that. Planning a wedding is a ton of work, so you deserve this! As a professional photographer, trust me, it makes all the difference in the world! Gentlemen, I understand photos might not be that exciting to all of you, but tough! This shoot is going to happen, so get in your mind that you are going to have fun!
Lastly, here are few things to keep in mind when choosing your attire. Don’t be too “matchy matchy.” Instead, dress in colors which will complement each other. Layers and textures translate well on camera. Stay away from busy patterns. Details such as earrings, bracelets, watches, etc. add a polished look. Most of all, don’t stress! Put your trust in your photographer and have a blast!
